The real story
I started doing this because I went to a wedding where the celebrant read from a laminated sheet. A laminated sheet. The couple were incredible humans with a ridiculous love story and the ceremony sounded like a government form.
"Your ceremony should feel like you threw a great party that also happened to make everyone cry."
So I became a civil celebrant. And I've spent every year since making sure that when two people stand up in front of the people they love most, the words they say actually sound like them. Weird, funny, emotional, specific. Real.
I'm based in Melbourne. Will travel anywhere in Victoria — and honestly, further if you make a good enough case. I've done ceremonies on rooftops, in backyards, in botanical gardens, in a mate's garage, and once in a very fancy paddock. Each one was completely right.
I hate scripts. I hate the word "journey." I love love — the real, messy, "I can't believe I found you" kind. That's what we're here for.
